West Central Equipment's relationship with John Deere dates back to 1938, when Fred J. Slezak started a dealership in New Alexandria in the basement of a chicken coop. In 1976, after a period of being closed, his son Fredrick resumed the business, creating Lone Maple Sales & Service, Inc. - which is home to New Alexandria location. Fredrick's son and current President, David, took over in 1980 with the single location until 2007 when he partnered with Joel Wineland and Rodney Metzler of Wineland Equipment, previous owners of another long standing John Deere dealership, to form West Central Equipment. Two years later, in 2009, Scheffel Equipment in Somerset was acquired. Four years after that, in 2013, we open our Butler location. In April 2017, we were proud to announce that our 5th location opened, located in Ebensburg. Our 5 locations serve 18 counties in Pennsylvania, Northern Maryland, and West Virginia.
