JDLink M Modem

The JDLink M Modem is an easy-to-install, low-lifetime-cost product that brings connectivity to compatible machines in your fleet - regardless of equipment brand or age. The M Modem seamlessly delivers valuable location, machine performance, and agronomic data (John Deere Display required) to the John Deere Operations Center where you can manage your operation, keep your machines running at peak performance and share data with agronomists, dealers, and others if you choose.

M Modem is ideal for all machines that uses the ISO bus architecture and SAE- J1939 protocol:
  • Small tractors
  • High Value Crop machines (non-Deere harvesters, support operational machines)
  • Non-Deere machines in general
  • Service vehicles
  • Deere legacy machines (before 2012)
The M Modem can also be connected to machines without CAN bus, with focus on machine position, machine speed and machine hours.

For non-Deere machines, all data collection is made by the messages that are transmitted by CAN bus messages, following the protocol SAE-J1939. Following is the main information that may be capture by the modem. This information may change by manufacturer, model, and model year:
  • Engine speed [rpm]
  • Engine load [%]
  • Wheel speed
  • Fuel level [%]
  • Fuel consumed [l]
  • Fuel rate [l/h]
  • DEF level [%]
  • Rear PTO (On/Off)
  • Front PTO (On/Off)
  • Coolant temp [oC]
  • Machine hour [h]
  • AutoTrac Utilization (On/Off) – only for competitivity tractors
  • DTC Alerts (J1939-71) – only for competitivity tractors
For Deere legacy machines all available information will be captured through the machine CAN bus. Tractors and STS 70 series are following the same previous list for non-Deere machines, including machine state (working, idle and transport).

Information that comes from the modem, independent of CAN bus messaging is:
  • Location
  • GPS speed [mph-km/h]
  • Machine hour [h]
