The store manager of a West Central Equipment branch is responsible for the achievement of the location's business plan and market share goals.  He/She provides leadership in evaluating, allocating and directing human resources for the location, manages the physical plant and makes financial decisions in keeping with ownership guidelines.  The Store Manager optimizes the profitable growth of the business, the personal growth of employees, and the satisfaction of customers.


  • Executes the business plan and achieves financial performance, including sales, budgets and cost control, according to established goals for a location
  • Develops and maintains a positive relationship with existing and new customers and resolves elevated customer issues
  • Ensures that appropriate communication takes place within and across all departments at the store which may include leading regular department management staff meetings and employee meetings
  • Implements the dealership values, principles, vision and mission within the location
  • Communicates with other store managers to implement best practices and consistent processes for all departments within the organization
  • Supports corporate managers in implementing department requirements and objectives
  • Ensures the successful planning and execution of marketing activities and events
  • Oversees maintenance, security and a professional appearance of the facility and property for the location
  • Participates in the sales process with customers as needed
  • Participates in hiring, development and evaluation of employees at the store

Candidate Requirements:

  • 5 years experience leading and supervising direct-report personnel
  • 5 years experience in a retail management position
  • Desired - experience as a parts or service manager, or in equipment sales
  • Desired - familiarity with John Deere and competitive products
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate others
  • Knowledge of income statements, marketing principles and sales management
  • Solid analytical, planning, problem solving and communication skills
  • Bachelors degree in agriculture, business or equivalent experience
