The Service Advisor/Writer is the customer's first point of contact to our service department.  Customers who own tractors, mowers and implements call the Service Advisor/Writer to discuss equipment problems and schedule maintenance and repair appointments.  The Service Advisor/Writer must have knowledge of John Deere turf and ag equipment, and provides estimates to customers for service to be performed on equipment.


Interprets equipment problems through listening, clarifying, inspecting and test driving

Verifies warranty coverage, service contract or maintenance plan per machine

Develops and delivers accurate estimates

Prepares repair orders (RO), enters RO into service database system

Maintains customer relationship and enhances company reputation

Maintains equipment records

Plans delivery and pickup of equipment, and coordinates trucking schedules

Completes required training


Excellent customer service and communication skills

Ability to read and comprehend English

Good mechanical aptitude

Good understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems

Solid computer and point-of-sale system skills

Ag and Turf equipment product knowledge
